Hats!

My friend Judy used to be a collector of vintage hats, specifically vintage hats with Union labels (I just learned that one of the first women's unions in America was the Millinery & Ladies Straw Hat Workers Union.)  She sold most of her collection years ago after deciding that being a "hat lady" no longer fit in with her style.

Judy offered me (a fellow "hat lady") the gift of the remnants of her collection – which, by the way are by no means "remnants" – she saved her very favorites and I couldn't be happier to have inherited them.

Eight of these are from Judy and the rest are from my personal hat collection.  That pink ombre one (third photo, bottom row left) is a favorite, a birthday gift from Alyssa a few years ago.  The lace, velvet and fur fascinator (first photo, middle row, left and right) is another birthday gift I just received a few days ago from Katherine.

Judy gave these hats with the instruction to sell them in my Etsy shop or to give them to someone who would wear and enjoy them (I know I for one would wear and enjoy them!)  I think I'm going to hang on to at least a few of these... I just haven't decided which yet (although that fascinator with the bow and rhinestones [first photo, bottom left] is definitely attending the symphony with me next weekend!)
